Carlton AFL players Will Hayward and Lachie Cowan were both taken to hospital after separate incidents, prompting the club to launch investigations into each case. Carlton will pass its findings to the AFL once the process is complete.

The AFL has issued Carlton a formal please explain over the matters. A potential punishment loophole is also under scrutiny. Hayward's partner was reportedly away at a hen's party event when the house party incident involving him occurred. Senior figures at the club are said to be deeply angry about what happened.
