Sabres Storm Back in Wild Score OT Win Over Minnesota

Buffalo came back from a two-goal deficit to beat Minnesota 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 6. Owen Power put in the winner past regulation to cap a furious rally in the final frame that forced extra time. The Sabres found themselves behind for long stretches before finding life late in regulation.

In Montreal, Carolina beat the Canadiens 6-4 in their home opener. Taylor Hall scored twice for the Hurricanes, who took control as the goals piled up at the Bell Centre.
